In my own small way, I helped launch two of Gainesville's most iconoclastic bands of the '90's. I was the evening manager at the Racquet Club after a long stay at Leonardo's and Coney Island, Anyhoo, these young ruffians lived in the only non-airconditioned dorms on campus, Murphree. I saw them often and even brought in a box of some of my old punk rock T's and ofcourse a couple Leo's as well. Well, with Jared's help, we pulled off the first ever coffe house jam, in which the then fledgling NRT finished up with a spirited version of N. Young's "Rockin in the Free World". The other seminal band of the 90's, Cocky Golden Bull played a non RUPC authorized aucoustic set on the outside stage at The Orange and Brew which I was then managing. They were great kids and a great time to have been in G'ville

I went to UF in the 90's and loved to see NRT. Noah's Red Tattoo were just about the mainstay at the Covered Dish, played there often and were just fun to hear and fun to watch. They were in short my favorite college band and I've seen many. Teen Idol rocks !!!!!
