I was so in love with Mark Butler. I guess it was because the bass player never gets laid, and I love the underdog or maybe because he was way dreamy and totally toxic. Whatever, he broke my heart, but then, who didn't! Hey Mark, if you ever Google yourself and read this remember me fondly! Love and MFP, Dawn
My friend, Bill, told me he was reading about Mark and his band online, which prompted me to Google him, and here I am. I remember Mark when he first came to G'ville from D.C. with his then-girlfriend, Pam, our freshman year, 1987. His relationship with Pam, with whom I am still friends, was not the best and skews my perspective of him. But he was quite the beautiful boy, handsome and charming, kind of subdued- maybe even aloof. I remember him telling me his mother had dated actor, Rene Aberjoinois; silly thing to remember. I drew a few pictures of him then; in fact I still have them. I've never seen him play in any band, but have heard about him over the years through people like Bill and Pam. I remember watching Mark drop out of school and realizing there was a whole culture of people, young and old, who maybe slipped through the cracks at University, but still hung around. I didn't know how I felt about it. Hope all is well with you, Mark. -Kristen
the above account stinks of the oblivious, unoriginal perspective of those who consider themselves "artists" because they studied a little bit of it in college, and is also quite condescending, if i may add. ironic, since she sounds like a clueless, useless twat.
