Randy McDaniel was a great bass player - He played with The Playboys and recorded with The Rare Breed. Today, he is a respected professor in an Alabama University. Can you believe it?

Following is a partial autobio on Randy that I cut and pasted out of an e-mail he sent to the Band. Hope he doesn't mind.
I left Gainesville in 1969 and moved to Memphis to take a job working in
a rehabilitation center where I stayed three years and moved to Auburn,
Alabama to work on my doctorate in 1972. I was invited to stay on as a
faculty member and have been here ever since. I was married to Lin
during the time we played together and we had three daughters of which
the oldest is still here, one is Katy, Texas, and the other one is in
north Alabama. They are all married and we have 6 grandkids. Lin and I
divorced back in the 80's and I've remarried a wonderful lady and we
have a 10 year old son. So between, work, raising the boy, and playing a
little music at times, life is good. Anyway, it is fantastic that Jimmy
has run you down and I suspect we will be having a major reunion of all
the former Rare Breeders before too long and hope that you will join in.
It really has been fun so far. Take care.
