The "Howlin' Wolf" Tavern (BAR) located at the intersection of Hwy. 26 and S.R. 100 Just outside Melrose (Putnam Hall)_ has been Rockin' fairly steadily since opening in 2000. Owned by a really cool "dude" Kevin and his 'ol lady Steph, This "Biker Friendly" establishment has brought a great atmosphere and good entertainment to the small towns of Melrose and Keystone Heights. My band, "Rozetta Stone" was the 1st band to play this venue on 12/17/00, since then we have played there numerous times, nearly on a monthly basis. There have been many other bands, on many Saturday nights, including "Long Strange Day" "Willie & the Po' Boys"and local Keystone Heigts band "The Key' (Featuring Ralph Baker) Since opening Kevin has added a deck on the side of the building with a seperate enterance. Lately there have been bands playing on Sunday afternoon as well. Bands are usually listed in Gainesville Sun "Scene" Magazine Live Music column. G.C.
