Axe Rocked!!!!

They had a relatively major hit with their album "Offering" in the early 80's with the national MTV hit "Rock and Roll Party In the Streets" and another minor national hit with "Video Inspiration". Great album. Right when they released their next album, Michael Osborne died in a car crash and that seemed to really destroy Bobby and the band fell apart.

Also had an earlier hit with a rockin' version of "Sugar Pie Honey Bunch" - the old R&B song.

I saw them open for Cheap Trick with Shooting Star at the O-Dome in 82. Seemed like the sky was the limit for them, but tragedy struck.

Great band. At least four great albums. Check out Axe!

Saw Axe at the Great Southern Music Hall (I think at Dub's, as well; Was a long time ago....). Always loved 'em! Main attraction was their first 2 albums: Self titled debut & Living On The Edge. Excellent Rock and moving Ballads. Used to see Michael Osborne at Albertson's doing the "middle of the nite grocery routine". More than once, actually; Personable guy. Bobby Barth recorded a solo album: "Two Hearts, One Beat", with one song that got into the charts. Still have my autographed copy of the band's "Offering": Signed at the Oaks Mall, back in the day. As is said: Gone, but definitely not forgotten. Thanks for the memories, guys! (Rock on, Michael). Sparks
