These guys were one of the finest jazzy blues jam bands around. Lead singer Russell Tillet really drove these guys with very tight performances. Djingo Fish was where you wanted to be when your evening kicked in!
The Dingo Fish Band was, in my opinion, one of the saddest disappointments in Hogtown music history. A collective group of extremely talented and complimentary musicians contrasted with a tremendous amount of personality differences.
I knew the band quite well as Dan Touhy was my fraternal big brother while in Gainesville. Saw them probably 50 times from day one, when Russell Tillet (an SAE) would come from next door to jam and write music with Dan in our room at Sig Ep. They had what it took musically to make it, which was bolstered by their making to the finals of the MTV College Band search.
When on the road, Touhy used to tell me how awesome the gigs were with the unbelievable fan support and respect they were getting from other musicians in the industry. Down time, however, proved to be quite the opposite, and, ultimately ended up outweighing the good -- thus the end of Dingo Fish.
I still listen to all of thier music, with Latigma Contigo still being a fave. Even turned some people on to them since.
I lost touch with Dan over the years, but at last contact he was only performing as a hobby.
I heard that Touhy, Dingo's guitarist,is working on a new record. I think he's working with the producer who did the Dashboard Confessional record. From what I understand it's got kind of a Brit-Pop feel - No Joy Yet - I think it's called.

Hey Brygator!
I saw these guys in a little dive in Valdosta Ga. in the early 90s. I bought an ep cassette at the show and wore it out. I have been searching for a copy of this disk. Where can I get one? Please let me know, I would LOVE to hear their stuff again. Thanks, Steven
Great Band!!! Saw these guys jam many times from behind the bar at The Mill...always enjoyed working when they played as the music & crowd were awesome and the money even better!!! Never would have believed that our other regular band, "Ken and Andrew", would be the ones to make it big when they transformed into Sister Hazel.

Hey,
If anyone knows where Dan, Russ, or Eric are these days, I'd love to know. Played with them from early to 91 and moved to Colorado when Cam joined. Jason Bazillian and I still keep in touch--he is a highly-repected wielder of Chinese herbs in San Diego.
My best to Hogtown . . .

Looking for Dingo Fish Band CDs or cassettes. Anyone have any ideas where to find them.
Thanks
Found a CD of theirs on Ebay for $3.95! I had played out my old copy.

I have one copy each of the cd and the tape (which has been transfered to CD) and will burn copies for anyone who wants one - Dan from Dingo Fish
Bill Queen was not in Dingo Fish, but played with Cam in Pinnochio Knows.
Russell Tillett is living in CA and has a new CD of his own called Quietvibrationland. I think it is available through his website http://members.aol.com/RTillitt/qvl.htm
I have not heard it yet, but reviews seem promising.
