I'm not exactly sure if this is the same For Squirrels but who cares, The singer for For S. right now used to be the drummer for the old FS, what happend was on Sept. 8 of some year FS was on their way home from some show in New York, they were getting pretty famous, they were #2 in RollingStone mag, just under Less Than Jake, but anyways, they were on their way home but unfortunatly they all didn't make that trip home. Their van flipped killing the singer, bass player and manager. They had their funerals at some place called Clearwater. While fishing with an old high school friend, the drummer decided to keep the band going in memory of their friends. I think he asked his old school friend to play bass and he would be the singer/guitarist, and I guess they found a drummer and stuff. From what I'v heard, the new FS is doing pretty well, If Im not mistaken they are signing on with some Sony label. Well, I hope it wasn't to jumbled or something, I'm just typing what I remember from some article.

I dont think you will ever realize the impact this incredible group has had on my life and on so many others as well. Its indescribible, literally. They were SO good, their songs flawless, audio perfection. If the members ever read this I just want to thank you for what you have done. I realize times change and people get older, but what I would give for one more show.

In response to the 10/01/2002 posting.... I'm not sure if every detail in the posting is correct, but, yes, that is the very same band, from Gainesville, Florida. We all miss those guys. It was the worst kind of tragedy. They were one of the most talented bands to rise out of Gainesville. I feel privileged to have heard them perform. Thanks, guys.

I saw FS a half-dozen times. I saw one of their very first concerts, in the back yard of the manager of a record shop called "Yesterday & Today" at a barbecue. I saw them at the Hardback. They were awesome. Their loss is a tragedy. I was at a party on 16th St when the news came on the television there. I have their CD Example and everything else I've been able to scrounge live off the 'net. For Squirrels was one of the best bands to ever come out of Gainesville.
