I added Hey Nice Guy since one current member and two former members live or lived in Gainesville. I wasn't sure if I should include members who don't live in Gainesville.

This is funny. Hahaha. There was a band in Ocala (not Gainesville) named Hey Nice Guy before 2000. Yes. The members were : Michael Ryals, Dan Smith, Andy Blaire, David Pope. They played a couple shows. Then they broke up. After that.........years later........we (MIchael Ryals, Gideon Merritt, J.B. Dean and Chad Rodgers) started a new band. We decided to call it Hey Nice Guy because I (Gideon Merritt) liked the name of Mike's previous band. Since they had long seperated, we used it. I still like the name. However, these are two separate bands we're talking about here. Also, if you're not sure if you should include members that don't live in Gainesville, then none of us but J.B. Dean should be up here. When the first HNG was a band, all the members lived in Ocala. Now, the only member of the new and improved super HNG that lives in Gainesville is J.B. Dean. So there you go. Hope that helps. Anyway, since the new improved super HNG we have had three drummers, that's why they're up here. The current line-up is this : Michael Ryals, Gideon Merritt, J.B. Dean, Oscar Nunez. :)
