Quit was/is a great band. The original members hatched their plan to start a Descendentsish band during a break in skating one fine day at my ramp, The Falls Ramp (1984-1988). The first time I tried to see them live outside of their rehearsal space, my girlfriend forgot her I.D. and tried to scam her way in by showing off her cleavage crack to the unimpressed doormen. I believe the trendy club was Fire and Ice. Years later (1995) when I was working at a scary detox facility for teens in Tampa, this punk-rock girl in there and I were talking about music and she asked if I'd ever heard of Quit. It was weird -- it seemed to me like they hadn't been super-active at that point, with Andre and Tony playing in bands like Fay Wray. A lot of great bands/players wouldn't have existed without people from our group of Miami friends: Minimum Wage, Radon, King Friday, Fay Wray, Kendall Three, Panthro, The Everybodies. The list goes on.
