Originally, I started the Joint Effort band with Kirby and Nataraja. Before that, I was playing drums for these two guys and we mainly did Hendrix stuff and some other hard rock/metal music.
I had some songs from my Rock Om Band in California that I wanted to perform with these two guys so we agreed that they would help me with my music and I would help them with theirs. I played drums for them and they played back-up for me so I could sing lead vocals and do my own original music that had a mystical/Eastern philosophy lyrical theme put to hard rock tunes.
We recorded some songs at my home in Alachua after I got my old drummer Jay Andersen to come out from California and join the Joint Effort Band. Kirby came up with some really hot guitar music and I wrote some new songs that really kicked ass.
Marriage problems caused me to drop out of the band and I encouraged the guys to go on without me and do their club stuff. Their band then went through some changes and I don't know if they kept the Joint Effort name or if they came back to it later, but originally I came up with the name "Joint Effort". They went through a couple of lead singers and played some clubs in the Gainesville area. I lost touch with the guys and haven't seen either one for several years. I am very saddened that the drummer ran off with the only copy of the tape we made (and my wife) and we have nothing to show for the hard work we put into putting together a whole tape full of original songs. I have asked my ex to get the bum to send me the tape (it was my tape anyway) but I haven't had any luck.
If Kirby or Nata sees this, please call me sometime(386-454-5680) for old times sake. I would love to check in with you guys and see how your doing!
I sure miss my musical days when I had a lot of fun singin' my ass off to some hard rock music. I have about four tapes floating around out there somewhere but I don't have a single copy of anything anymore. Thats a bummer.

Ksama
