MB: So Mark, how come you've decided to interview yourself?
Mark: Just lonely I guess...who else?
MB: So what about the apricot bit?
Mark: (vague) ...has something to do with apples not being indigenous to the middle east, you know original sin and all a that...
MB: hmmmm...
Mark: mmhmm..
MB: Any good stories?
Mark: No, but I had to cringe when I read the Tom Petty article article 3555. See we had this song, well first of all, Bob McNellis knew Tom back in the day, they were in a band together pre-Heartbreakers, I saw a pic of their combo and it was straight out of Spinal Tap "Thamesman" era with the Paul Revere get-ups. Anyway, AP had this song with a nauseating bass line and Bob insisted on calling the song "Nova 69" AND NOW I KNOW WHY! Disgusting!
MB: Ahh, memories...
Mark: Our best gig was our first one at the Rathskellar. There were like 400 people there an' Simon fell over the mic stand and then back on his head. He was out for about half a minute. Everyone though it was a cool stage move. He was stoned. Pol Mahlow was painting neo-German Expressionist diarrhea on a canvas behind Mike's drum kit. High Kitsch.
MB: So, how would you rate yourselves in the local scene?
Mark: We sucked. We were the original shoegazers.
MB: Fave band, then?
Mark: Scared of Stares, definitely. They did a killer cover of Aerosmith's "No More No More."
MB: Any last thoughts?
Mark: Nope
MB: OK then, thanks!
Mark: No, thank you.
