Like a Phoenix (a '78 Pontiac Phoenix) rising from the ashes of metal-grass juggernaut Manatee, Skerj continued a tradition of community involvement. They often involved the community until 4 in the morning. Often, enthusiastic neighors would join in the fun, pounding out a lively tatoo or paradiddle on the front door and improvising lyrics such as, "shut the fuck up assholes!" and "some people have to work in the morning!" This outpouring of heartfelt sentiment inspired the the band to redouble their efforts in community outreach. Sadly, Skerj's good will mission was cut short by a greedy rental agency with more concern for the bottom line than for good deeds.
If you all are the people who lived across the street from me a few years back, I think you were the guys who vandalized my den after the party where we opened up guadalcanal diary. I'm fucking sick of people like you, with absolutely no talent or alternative cred thinking you can barge into a scene and ruin everybody's evening.
So leave gainesville and our music community alone!
Hmmm. It's kind of funny that you found the need to write something here under my name, but for the record, I did not write the above submission (dated 03/07/2003). Have fun, though.
