Younger brother of artist Juliana Hatfield. Original member of the Cambridge, MA band Helium. Left Helium and Cambridge to start Star Husler in Portland, OR. in the early 90's. First CD is out of print. Released 4 others on Dirt Records www.dirtrecords.com including 1995's stellar "Mendicant", 1997's "Vapid Drivel", 1998's "Transamber" and 2000's "Songs for Betty". Hatfield is the groups only mainstay over 8 years. Other members included solo artists Mary Lou Lord and Blake Hazzard as well as Stacey Jones of Letters to Cleo and American Hi-Fi. Star Hustler has gone from rock pop to alt-country over the past few releases. Hatfield himself, has developed into a strong songwriter and multi-instrumentalist earning well deserved critical praise from the New England music community.
