i met lois when my band (government issue) was on a mini-tour of the south and played with the fabulous mutley chix in gainesville, fl. my voice was completely hoarse from yelling my head off the previous night in atlanta,ga. lois tried to have a conversation with me, nonetheless. we ended up conversing on a piece of paper and taking a liking to each other. the show was a blast. in particular, i really dug watching lois doing her set with the chix. she had this slacker sexy cool style onstage. the next few days we both became quite infatuated with one another and... we had one of them long-distance relationships, but those things never lasted for this frontman. we kind of split up badly, but ended up friends. i was completely thrown for a loop when i read that river phoinex went out with the following chix- singer. glad he didn't have his eye on lois back then. it's great to see this sight about my favorite punk rock madonna.

it's lois sakany's biggest fan again. just wanted to correct that the mutley who went out w/ river was the sax player not the next chix singer. wasn't aware of this until i read about the mutley who loved river on her site. also wanted to add that it was lois who was responsible for my still being a vegetarian. when i stayed w/ her one month in gainesville i didn't eat any meat because i couldn't afford it. lois was a vegetarian + animal science major and fed me burrito bros. nachos. when i returned home i felt thousand times healthier & am happier w/o dead flesh in my system. thanks lois! does anyone know what lois is up to? i ran into her while g.i. played c.b.g.b. in "87 & we hung out all nite just rapping about old days. that's the last i saw of her. if anyone's interested my new band can be found at http://www.factoryincident.com

I was Lois's roomate in the year leading up to the formation of the Chix, and was privildged to attend several of their first practices. What they as first lacked in musical knowledge and experience they more than made up for with enthusiasim. I have fond memories of their first gig, which was at the downtown plaza. Their thrashish, unprecise sound at first shocked the family-type crowd that was present. But by keeping all of their songs down to a crisp 30-60 seconds, they soon won over the crowd, which demanded an encore; as I remember, it was a reprise of their classic "More Beer". Wherever you are, Lois: You Rock, Woman!
